Project Achievements in 2015-2016

Over 25 tons of humanitarian aid delivered to over 7,000 IDPs in different regions of Ukraine (in particular, to IDPS living in temporary camps in Kurakhove, Berdyansk, Korostyshiv, Kremenchuk, and Komsomolsk).

 

Over 900 volunteers are engaged in project activities.

 

240 practicing psychologists, social workers, emergency service employees, volunteers went through a 3-day “Children and War” training in Kyiv, Cherkasy, Ivano-Frankivsk, Odesa, Vinnytsia, Mykolayiv, Dnipro, Lviv, Drohobych and Izmail.

 

More than 220 children and 60 parents went through the “Children and War” rehabilitation therapy course (which consists of 7 therapy sessions each) in Kyiv region, Zhytomyr region, Odessa region and Dnipropetrovsk region. Therapy has helped them in the recovery from their traumatic experience and provided them with an opportunity for a better future and fulfilling lives.

 

The Project also reached two IDP camps in Odessa region thanks to the support of the Ukrainian Credit Union (Canada), where Helping Hand has supported children and parents with psychological as well as humanitarian aid.
