Aliana Pizzi

Aliana began her training at the Luis Fuentes Dance Academy and later went to the Royal Conservatory for professional dancing in Madrid. After winning competitions in Santander and Zaragoza, she received a scholarship to participate in the Europe Dance Company for young dancers and a scholarship of the Culture and Education Department of Spain to begin her career abroad.

 

From 2002 onwards Aliana was engaged in the Deutsche Oper Berlin under the direction of Sylvian Bayard. In 2004 she went to the Stattsballet Berlin, working under the direction of Vladimir Malakov. During this time, she performed a diverse selection of dances from several choreographers including Maurice Béjart, George Balanchine, Kenneth McMillan, Uwe Scholz, Youri Vamos, Vladimir Malakov, Heinz Spoerli, Mario Schroeder, Angelin Preljocaj, William Forsythe, Patrice Bart, Ray Barra, Nils Christe, and many more.

 

In 2006 Aliana worked at the Theater and Philharmonie Thüringen under the direction of Ivaylo Lliev. It was not too long before she returned to Madrid performing with Ballet Madrid under the direction of Pascal Touzeau. Here she began to make the acquaintance of freelance choreographers.

 

From 2008, she began performing as a guest artist for several venues. Special performances included “Delicatessen Danza” choreographed by Amador Castilla, “Expo’s 2008 Inauguration Gala” in Zaragoza, Encontros/ Alcultur in Zaragoza, “West Side Story” at the St Prex Festival 2008 in Lausanne, “Ma Vie La Danse” with Noelle Kuhn in St Gallen in 2010, ”Irheki”choreographed by Jon Ugarizza, and “The Art of Dance” choreographed by herself.

 

In 2014 Aliana decided to develop her own performance, using her knowledge of theater, movement, as well as her musical background. She formed an entire show which gained high recognition called “Love’s In Dance” that was performed in the Kurtheater in Baden and Zurich (Switzerland), and in Lichtenstein, following in 2017 with "Tanz&Artistik” both for the Pizzi Dance Art Company.

 

Aliana also teaches dance at the University of Zurich, and works with young competition dancers to improve their abilities and movements.
