Anna Khamzina

Anna Khamzina is a native of Russia and completed her dance education at the Natalia Trishina and Yuly Medvedev School of Classic Dance, from which she graduated in 2003. She started as a soloist in the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Academic Mucis Theatre, where she danced Giselle, as well as the title role in John Neumeier’s “The Little Mermaid”, as well as roles in Vladimir Burmeister's "Swan Lake" and "La Esmeralda", Dmitry Bryantsev’s "Illusive Ball", Pierre Lacotte’s "La Sylphide" and “Napoli". She has also worked with renowned choreographers such as Jiří Kylián, Jorma Elo and Nacho Duato. In 2013, she joined the Aalto company as a group dancer with a solo commitment and has been involved as a solo dancer with group commitments since then. Her roles included the Good Fairy (“Cinderella”), Titania (“A Midsummer Night’s Dream”) and Giselle. In her last season, she was able to put on the play “One Morning” (“PTAH III”) as a choreographer, with Dmitry Khamzin.

 

Anna Khamzina has been a soloist in the Zurich Ballet since Summer 2015, where she has held the title roles in Swan Lake, the original by Marius Petipa and Anna Karenina by Christian Spuck.
