Bartek Niziol

Bartek Nizioł began his musical education in the fifth year, later he studied with Jadwiga Kliszewska in Poznań and with Pierre Amoyal in Lausanne. Before even completing his solo diploma and during his studies, Bartek won several prestigious awards for international violin competitions with distinction at the Music Academy in Poznań in 1994.

Subsequently to completing his studies, Niziol played at prestigious music festivals, including "Midem" in Cannes, "Festival de Radio France" and "Festival de Carcassone". He also performed as a soloist in major orchestras, including the Orchester Philharmonique de Radio France, the English Chamber Orchestra, and the Sinfonia Varsovia.

From 1997 to 2003 Nizioł was Deputy 1st Concertmaster of the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich, since 2003 he is the first concertmaster of the Zurich Opera. [1]

In 2000, Nizioł founded the chamber music ensemble, “ Niziol Quartet” with three other musicians from the Zurich Opera Orchestra and the orchestra of the Tonhalle. The ensemble was devoted mainly to violin pieces by Russian composers such as Tchaikovsky and Borodin [2], especially during a concert tour through Russia in 2005. [3]

Nizioł plays a Guarneri-del-Gesù violin dating back to 1727. He was the first violinist in the Stradivari Quartet to play the 1727 Stradivarius violin "Aurea" he played this historical instrument from 2007 to 2010.
